Funnelle Hall

The Facts

Location: Funnelle is located in the center of campus.

Residents: 400

Floors: 9

Ceiling Height: 8' Window Height: 53''

Closets Width: 52'' Closet Depth: 26 ''

The Activities

In Funnelle's main lounge located on the first floor, students can trade

in their I.D. cards to rent out equipment to play fooseball, pingpong,

pool, air hockey, and darts.

While many students bring their own televisions, nothing

beats a big screen on game day (or a closer look at Johnny

Depp). The front desk also has a stock of VHS's, DVDs, board games (20-30)

and video games (not to mention game systems)

in which students can borrow in exchange for the I.Ds.

Funnelle offers is a piano. This comes

in handy on Sunday evenings when Funnelle holds Open Mic

Night or when messing up an opponents focus while playing pool.

Also, as of the 2007 Fall semester, Funnelle is the only dorm with the

Wii.

Kitchenette

Located in the dark dungeon of Funnelle's basement is the

Kitchenette. Okay, so it's not that dark, but it isn't the most

technological advanced Kitchenette but it gets the job done.

It includes a stove and sink.

The microwave, toaster, and utensils (pots, pans, spoons...etc) are located

behind the front desk.

Note: As of the Fall Semester 2007, the basement is under reconstruction because they are moving the washers and dryrs to the basement to meet building compliance. The expected number of washers and driers installed is seven. This construction is expected to be done before the Spring Semester 2008.

Floor Lounge

On every floor is a lounge which includes a television

and chairs. This is the location where floor meetings

are held by the Resident Assistant (RA). During the first

week the RA's hold a couple floor meetings, but during

the semester they are few and far between.

Bathrooms

Every floor has a male and female bathroom. They are also a

typical place that RA's post their announcements such as floor

meetings and special events. Funnelle's bathrooms include 3

stalls, 2 showers and 1 shower/bathtub. The also have outlets so don't

leave behind those electric razors or blowdriers.

The bathrooms do not have paper towels or hand dryers.

The Elevators

Beware, they eat people. It is not unusual for one or two of the three elevators to be out

of service. Although the campus is prompt in fixing them, they break

down often enough to warrant having a cell phone anytime

you get on the elevator, just in case.
